X-ray Services

We have a digital x-ray machine at the Hôpital vétérinaire Du Parc. Using this extremely precise tool, our team can quickly and easily obtain information on your pet’s musculoskeletal system and organs.

Unfortunately, we do not offer ultrasound services at our clinic, but we can refer you if needed.

When are digital x-rays required?

Our vets use the digital x-ray machine to make a targeted diagnosis in the event of injury or fracture, or to detect another condition your animal may be experiencing, like:

  • Hip dysplasia
  • Foreign body
  • Kidney stone
  • Cardiac or respiratory issues
  • Tumours

When would you ask for a second medical opinion?

Our veterinarians are generalists and always make a preliminary assessment at a consultation. They may share x-ray images with a radiologist for a full assessment in order to validate the diagnosis and confirm the therapeutic approach.

Does my pet have to be put under general anesthesia for digital x-rays to be taken?

In general, pets do not require general anesthesia or sedation to take digital x-rays. The process is quick and painless. A sedative or painkiller could be necessary if the animal is too sick or has trouble staying still because of their condition.
